Newtown finally has its first public EV charger, with an EVX Australia charger opening on Brown St, outside Newtown Library. The charger has two type-2 plugs and is part of a City of Sydney trial.
The lack of public charging facilities has been a barrier to EV uptake, with many Inner West residents unable to charge at home. We hope to see more chargers on Newtown streets in the future.
